Paper Piecing Stamped Images

Hello everyone and happy Saturday! I wanted to show you a card I made recently using my new La-La Land Crafts stamp. Her name is Marci and isn't she just adorable? I decided to paper piece her because the design is fairly open and it is so much quicker than coloring the whole image with Copic markers.  I really enjoy combining the look of a colored image with the interest of patterned paper. I hope you try out this technique!

How to:
To paper piece the design all I did was stamp the image several times on different patterned papers and once on white Copic paper using Momento Black ink.  I stamped Marci once on the brown patterned paper and then again on the striped paper. Then using fine tip scissors I trimmed around her dress and hair, making sure to cut on the outer edge of the line. Keep in mind if you cut inside the lines or right on the lines the design doesn't look as complete. Next I colored the skin, shoes and bow with my Copic markers. To adhere the hair and dress I put the pieces through my Xyron Sticker Maker (this is a must have tool if you enjoy paper piecing!) and then I applied them to the colored image. To finish it off I trimmed around the whole image and used foam pop dots to adhere her to the card.

What I used:
Background stamp: Classic Fabric Design from Hero Arts, patterned paper: Gabrielle Collection from BoBunny, cardstock: Bazzill, sentiment stamp: Card Chatter-Sympathy by Close to my Heart, ink: Sorbet and Lagoon dye ink by Close to my Heart, ribbon: American Crafts, Pearls: Kaiser Craft, Copic Markers: E0000, E00, E01, R83, BG45 and BG49.
