Even though April will soon be over, I wanted to still post my April Tag for Tim Holtz's 12 tags challenge. I love seeing the new tags every month and finding ways to adapt my version of the tag using the supplies I own. It is really temping to run out and purchase all the great products now being shipped from the CHA releases, so I'm trying really hard to just use what I have!
For this month's tag I didn't have most of what Tim used so I improvised and I must say I'm quite happy with the result! I used a different embossing folder, the branch I cut from my Cricut (Art Philosophy Cartridge) and then embossed the branch with Vintage Photo Distress embossing powder and the leaves I used Embossing Antiquities powder in Verdigris. Then I cut the bird from chipboard using the Birdcage die, covered it with Distress inks and then applied a layer of Distress Stickles in Rock Candy. For the saying I don't have any of the new Word Sticks yet, so I used a domino that had pre-drilled holes (from Michaels) and covered it with several layers of silver embossing powder. On the last layer I stamped Live into it with a C.C. Designs stamp. Once it was cool I covered the whole piece with black acrylic paint and rubbed off the excess. I then attached it with some brown embroidery floss.
Thanks for stopping by to check out my tag! As always it was a blast to play along with Tim's challenge.
