May Tag

I'm really waiting until the last minute for this tag...but I decided to give it a go anyways. There are some fun techniques in this tag (which is based on Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2012) and I just had to switch it up a little as usual.

So for my tag I decided to go brighter and use the new Spring Distress Ink colors, Squeezed Lemonade, Peacock Feathers (my new favorite) and Shaded Lilac. I also used the Attic Treasures stamps (which are the mini versions) and the Sewing Room die for the dress form. I cut out the dress form with brown cardstock, covered the dress portion of it with Tim Holtz Tissue wrap (comes in the large roles) and then for the skirt I took smaller strips of the tissue and made ruffles. The belt is some seam binding colored with Strawberry Shortcake Glimmer Mist and the buckle is a Tim Holtz button covered with Pearl paint from Ranger. The dress I inked (after I had it on the dress form) with Shaded Lilac and then misted with Perfect Pearl mist. The flowers are from I Am Roses and I inked the edges with the same Distress inks. For the clear UTEE I added some Glitter Ritz in Transparent Cool Highlight and then dipped the flowers into the melting pot. With these flowers I found it really tricky to get a thin layer of UTEE because the petals are so far apart and I just didn't want to take the time to melt excess off all the petals. As a result my flowers are a little thicker looking than Tim's. The twine I used is from Close to my Heart and so is the seam binding.

I hope you enjoyed my version of Tim's Tag and make sure you hop over to his blog and check out all the other great creations!

  1. Great tag. I love how you made the dress with the tissue. Very clever!
