February Calendar Layout

For the past few years I've created calendars for my grandparents. Usually I'm so busy leading up to Christmas with classes and events that I don't get around to working on the calendars until the week before Christmas. Last year I decided to try making a layout every month with the same papers I use in my Close to my Heart Clubs where me make a two page layout. I always have lots of paper left over, so I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to use up that excess. It worked so well! All I had to do the week before Christmas was catch up on one or two layouts, title each month and add the numbers. I use the 12x12 blank calendars from Close to my Heart found here. This took the stress out of my Christmas preparations so I'm doing it again this year!

I decided to take it one step further and share with you all the sketches, products and pictures of my layouts. The ladies who attend my monthly workshops will receive the handout with measurements and the sketch, then I will post the pictures here on my blog. Whether you are in my monthly clubs or not I hope you will find this helpful and encourage you to work on those Christmas gifts all year long instead of stressing at the last minute like I usually do!

 Here is the sketch:

A: 12"x12" Colonial white cardstock
B: 8"x10" flowered patterned paper
C: 6"x8" Sorbet cardstock
D: 1 3/4"x11" burlap ribbon
E: 1"x1 1/2" sorbet patterned paper
F: 1 1/4"x2" blue patterned paper

All papers were taken from the CTMH Clementine Workshops on the Go pack.

As you may notice I don't follow a "theme" for the month. I use the paper from whatever Workshops on the Go kit I use that month with my club ladies. I prefer my calendars to be more neutral, but if you would like to have a theme (like love for February, Easter for March, etc) feel free to switch up your papers and embellishments! If you do follow along I would love to see what you create, so please leave a link in the comment section below to wherever you post online (blog, flicker, pinterest, facebook, etc).

Here is my version of the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by,
