For the sketch this month I actually had some pictures to put in it! The Later Sk8tr paper is amazing and I just can't get enough of this paper pack. I love the colors and I wish there were other designs using the same color palette.
I decided to create a layout about my parent's three dogs and after much coaxing and 30 minutes I was finally able to get some decent pictures of them. I am so NOT a dog photographer!
You may notice that the arrows on the sketch differ from the ones on my actual layout. That is because I only use Keynote on my Mac to create the sketches (no fancy photoshop here) and the different types of shapes available is very limited.
Here is the sketch:
A: 12” x 12” grey cardstock
B: 5 1/2” x 9 1/2” blue patterned paper
C: 3/4” x 7” green patterned paper
D: 1” x 2 1/2” dark blue patterned paper
E: 1 1/2” x 4” diamond plate patterned paper
F: 1 1/2” x 5” gears patterned paper
G: 1” x 3 1/2” dark blue cardstock
H: 3/4” x 2 1/2” green patterned paper
I: 3 1/4” x 4 1/4” white cardstock x3
Arrow embellishments: 2”
Circle embellishments: 1/2”
How to make the arrows: Cut the plaid patterned paper into 2” squares, cut those squares diagonally into two triangles and then cut a smaller triangle out of the long side of the arrow.
My version of the sketch called "Puppy Love":
Supplies used: Later Sk8r paper pack, Epoxy Bubbles, Tiny Type Epoxy Alphabet, Thickers foam alphabet, sewing machine, White Linen Dylusions Mist, sanding block, 1/2" circle punch, border punches.
