Top 10 Products From Summer CHA 2013

Happy Friday!
As you probably know the Craft and Hobby Association Trade Show (CHA) was last week in Las Vegas. I wasn't able to attend this time, but I had a lot of fun watching all the YouTube videos from the show and stalking the manufacturer's blogs to see what was new! I LOVE new products and the trade shows are like Christmas for those of us who are scrapbook addicts! Even though most of these items are not in stores yet, they should be shipping in the next month or two.

I wanted to share my list of favorites from the show...I tried to limit it to my absolute must have items.
So here is my top 10 in no particular order:

1. Ideology Binder Punch

Over the last few months I have made a couple of albums with the Binder Rings and I absolutely adore this way of binding my projects! There is so much flexibility and the books look very tidy and professional when you are done. The only frustrating part was getting the holes punched in your paper correctly to match up with the rings...well Tim fixed that problem with the new punch! I might have jumped up and down when I saw this on his sneak peak list... but I won't confirm or deny that :-)

2. Sizzix Alterations Vintage Market Bigz XL Die

If you saw my blog post on the DIY Thickers you will know that I recently purchased Tim Holtz's Block Talk Bigz XL die and fell in love with making my own letter stickers. These dies are amazing because they cut almost any material: thin metal, chipboard, grungeboard, fabric, foam, felt, etc. I love the Vintage Market font and I can't wait to expand my letter sticker collection!

3. BoBunny Zip-A-Dee Doodle Collection

Okay now I have to be honest...I actually want every single collection BoBunny released at this show! Every line is beautiful and I can think of multiple uses for each one! If I had to pick my favorite though it would have to be the Zip-A-Dee Doodle line. Many of the papers have black and white sketchy patterns that I am just itching to mist and color to my heart's content! The blues and greens found in this line are also very beautiful...oh and the Misc Me album that matches this line is crazy cool too!

4. BoBunny Misc Me Elf Magic Recipe Collection

So I have used the BoBunny Misc. Me product before (click here) and when I saw they had come out with a recipe collection I thought BRILLIANT! This is a fun Christmas line and I think this album would make a great gift for someone or a way to record the special baking/recipes you create in December. Want it!

5. Prima Optimist Collection

The chalkboard trend was all over the place at the Summer CHA which is awesome, but I especially liked what Prima did with the trend. They added bright pops of pink and turquoise to really spice up those black and white patterns. They even created chalkboard leaves and flowers to match this line! I'm not sure what I plan to make with this yet, all I know is that I MUST have it :-)

6. Simple Stories Albums and Sn@p Sets

Simple Stories is another company that I pretty much love whatever they come out with...so my pick is really all the Simple Stories collections! I have been waiting since the Winter CHA show to see the new Faux Leather Albums and matching page protectors and they finally had them ready for this show. I was excited about the page protectors because unlike other companies divided pages they actually come in a huge variety of designs and sizes.
I was also really excited to see the new Sn@p collections. They are basically like mini collections with pre-cut cards, a few stickers and pockets. The line I showed above is the baby girl one (I plan on using that this year for my new niece) but they also came out with 7 other themes! If you like fast and easy albums, these Sn@p sets are a MUST.

Another collection from Simple Stories that I like was December Documented which brings in that chalkboard look again and is perfect for the December Daily type albums.
The Say Cheese collection is also amazing and since I'm visiting Disney in a little over one month I will be picking up this collection as well!

7. Heidi Swapp Color Magic

Anything that I can mist, ink or otherwise alter is good with me so Hedi Swapp's Color Magic products are always an obvious favorite. Okay honestly I love pretty much all of Heidi Swapp's stuff and her Memory File concept is BRILLIANT! Make sure you check out all the other cool things she released at this show and some of her amazing artwork with the Memory Files.

 8. Heidi Swapp Color Shine

Color Shine sprays are in a league all their own. There is really no other shimmer type spray that compares to them so having 6 new colors of this magic liquid is awesome!! I can't wait to see what the colors look like in person because it's always so hard to tell online. I'm sure they will be beautiful as I own all the other colors of this spray and absolutely love each one :-) If you haven't tried it out yet you don't know what you're missing!

9. Teresa Collins Memorabilia Collection

Teresa Collins had a couple of cute lines at this show but Memorabilia was by far my favorite. If you hadn't caught on yet I really like the chalkboard trend and I'm glad so many different manufacturers decided to jump on the bandwagon with it! This whole line is gorgeous and it is loaded with really cute embellishments! The teal, yellow and tan accents add a nice pop of color and the designs are typical, beautiful, Teresa Collins style!

10. Becky Higgins Project Life Heritage Core Kit

I have not really jumped on the Project Life train as it seems like a lot of extra work and I prefer to do the 12x12 standard layouts. However, I just came across a whole bunch of vintage photographs from my Grandparents and I'm looking for a quick way to get these photos out of the old damaged albums and into a new system. This kit looks perfect and would make my job very easy. I might just be a Project Life convert yet!!

Well, I did see many other products that looked interesting from the show but I thought I had better limit it to 10 (well sort of!) so this blog post didn't go on for pages! I'm sad to say there will be no CHA show next summer, but the winter show will still be happening in January like usual in Anaheim, CA. Who knows maybe I can attend again and bring you some LIVE coverage of the event! I will keep you posted on that one.

I would love to hear what your favorite new releases are from the show so please leave a comment and let me know or head over to my Facebook page and leave a comment there.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by,
