Glittered Copics

I love anything involving glitter, shimmer or shine. I also love my Copic markers, so the Glittered Copics technique is one of my all time favorites! The possibilities are truly endless! All you need in some double sided tape, mico fine glitter, some Dazzles stickers and your Copic markers!

Here are some cards I created demonstrating this technique for an upcoming class:

April Calendar Sketch

It's hard to believe April is already half over! If you have not seen my other monthly posts, I have been creating a sketch and 12x12 page every month for the ladies who take part in my monthly Close to My Heart clubs. At the end of the year I add photos and put the layouts into calendars for my grandparents. If you want to see my other layouts click here and here.

This is the sketch:

Here is the layout made with the Chantilly paper pack:

Supplies: Chantilly paper pack, grey baker’s twine, Color-Ready Cork Alphabets, Tiny Type Epoxy Alphabet, various brads, 1 1/4” scallop circle punch, Tiny Attacher (mini stapler).

How to make the pinwheels: Cut a square any size you want from patterned paper (I used 1 1/2” and 2 1/2” squares). Make a slit on all four corners of the square towards the middle but don’t cut all the way through. Then take one corner of these cut sections and bend it towards the center. Do this on all four sides and fasten in the center with a brad.

New April Classes

I always love making new classes and projects to share! Here are some of the new classes that I will be teaching in Red Deer this month.

Follow the Rainbow
Thursday, April 18

Just in time for spring these bright and cheerful cards will bring a smile to anyone’s face. Not only will you create six stunning cards, but there is a wide range of techniques and products used. We will be playing with new Distress paints, glitters, inks, washi tape, vellum and masking sheets to create these beautiful cards. I hope you can join us for a fun evening following the rainbow!

File Folder Layouts
Tuesday, April 23

Are you looking for a way to include a large number of photos in your albums without creating multiple layouts? Or would you like to make your 12x12 layouts more interactive? If so then this is the class for you! In this class we will create a two page layout with the one page being a folder insert which you can pull out to find a whole interactive mini album inside! Complete with flaps and pockets, the folder system is a great way to store multiple photos and memorabilia. This is just the beginning of a journey to spark your imagination and show you different ways to create interactive pages for your 12x12 albums.

 For Her Shadow Box
Thursday, April 30

It’s time to make Mom something special! Mother’s Day is just around the corner and this elegant shadow box is a great way to show you care. The theme of this box is neutral enough that you can create it for anyone. However, when it’s done you may want to keep it for yourself! In this class we will learn several applications for Inka Gold, how to make  paper roses, using stencils and how to use Distress Stains as mists. If you are looking for that extra special gift this year, come join us for a fun, creative evening!
