August Hearts of the West Blog Hop

Welcome to the Hearts of the West team blog hop! August Edition. If this is your first time joining us you will love it. It features Close to my hearts Consultants from all over Canada and it is founded by Nancy Klein.

This months challenge is a color challenge brought to you by Design seed and hand picked from Nancy Klein.

A fun few facts about August: It is National Picnic Month, also this month's birth flowers are the beautiful gladiolus and the poppy!

If you came from Jackie Vandaele then your in the right place, this is a go around blog so you can start anywhere! Just in case the full list will be at the bottom. SO as always grab your coffee, tea, water, relax and hop around the team with us.
For my card this month I stamped the white card base using a sketchy triangle from B1465 Glitter Glam stamp set. I off set the triangles to create a full looking background and starting from the bottom I used Outdoor Denim, Whisper and Sky ink.

On the vellum I stamped several branches using Whisper and Pear pigment ink. The fun part about this card is when you adhere the white cardstock to the vellum and then add foam tape to the back only where the white cardstock is, it looks like the whole panel is floating above the card! I wanted some extra dimension so that the leaves would be more visible, so I added two strips of foam tape stacked on top of each other.

For the flowers I stamped the smooth side of the flower stamps onto scrap white cardstock with second generation stamping and then I cleaned the stamps, flipped them over to the design side and then stamped the flower outlines with the matching ink. This creates a great two toned look

Supplies I used include: CTMH ink pads in Sorbet, Buttercup, Pear, Whisper, Sky and Outdoor Denim, Sequins Assortment in silver, C1600 Happy Birds stamps, B1462 Lovely Birthday stamps, B1465 Glitter Glam stamps, vellum and White Daisy cardstock.
